Online Archaeology began life around 2002 when I decided to put my web developer skills to some use.
I studied Ancient History & Classical Archaeology at Warwick University and wrote my dissertation about the use of technology in archaeology. Since part of my argument was that archaeological data could easily be made available online, I built a basic website for the paper. That basic website grew into Online Archaeology.
I'm a full time .NET web programmer and SQL database specialist, so I use those skills in updating Online Archaeology.
I actively encourage people to add their own data onto Online Archaeology. Once registered you can add links and software, photos, blogs, profile and articles. There is also a section for people to add their own work.
