I'm Gordon, I'm a mature second year history student with an interest in archaeology.
Main interests are military archaeology-I was a volunteer field surveyor for the Defence of Britain Project a few years back-and my research concerns the military in Scotland in the 20th century.
Also mediaeval history-especially monasticism and the military orders (Templars etc, and WW2.
Found this site by accident, but I can appreciate the work Steve's putting in to it. It's looking good, and I hope it goes from strength to strength.
Yours in History,

I'm Mary a third year archaeology student. I've nearly finished so I'm about to have to join the real world! I've dug a few sites from Roman onwards, but my study interests are late upper palaeolithic and bronze age. I've just finished my dissertation on food sharing practices at a Magdalenian site in France, so I'm also interested in ethnographics and how the data can be used to interpret archaeological sites.

Welcome to the portal and thanks for posting.
I'd be more than happy to publish your dissertation on the main portal.
An aim of the portal is to provide information about the processes involved in the collection, storage, and interpretation of archaeological data. I'm hoping to include a lot of detailed, non-jargon information on GIS and archaeology in the future.

Thanks for the offer, my dissertation is being marked at the moment. When I get it back I'll check it over for any suggested alterations and then forward you a copy for the site.
I think its a really good idea to be publishing peoples work online, otherwise lots of research never enters the public domain. Kepp up the good work :)
