 | | 25 Apr 2008 08:57 PM | | Don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but over the last couple of days I've been experiencing problems when I click on headings.Occasionally, it happens when I click onto the homepage from somewhere else.
I'll get an error message-HTTP 500 internal server error, or another one about vectors (I think). Both usually happen if I click on something once; if I do it twice, there's not usually a problem.
I first noticed it the other night, just after the software section was added (not that I'm assuming there's a connection), so it's either a recent problem with the site, or one with my pc.
A short while ago, I tried to take advantage of a free website offer, but because there were unresolvable problems accessing it as admin, I had to chuck it. Later turned out I had a virus, now cleared, but there may still be problems this end.

I presume these errors are only in the forums and not in the portal as I get emailed if there are errors on the portal.
I've just run some quick tests on the forums and I have generated some errors which point to my DB connection. I'll check with my hosts if there is some problem with the comms between the application and database servers.
These problems are usually down to incorrect server config. After I first published the portal the page responses were pretty bad until I asked my hosts to turn on IIS compression. After that they increased considerably - the lesson is, not matter how clean you make your code, if the server's not set up right, you're not going to win.
Let me know if you still get problems and I'll get a solution.
