Steve - What about having a forum which prompts people for their own UNSUBSTANTIATED wild theories. I can think of several from my experiences in Maldon Essex and here are a couple of examples: * I would recommend that Maldon is regarded an Iron Age Hill Fort - although experts refuse to even suggest it since no one has yet recorded any earthworks or fences in the 'right' places. I would be pleased to present my reasons for thinking this. * One of this countries most expensive excavations at Heybridge did not find evidence of boats, a harbour or Quay etc. so they cannot say Iron Age and Roman Heybridge was a port. I think that this is really poor and that other types of evidence point it's actual existance is a result of it being an important port.
