In summer 2007 the Hungate excavations in York hosted the very successful Archaeology Live! training excavation. From 23rd September 2007 further training opportunities are available. On our One to One Mentoring courses individuals who would like more specialised and intensive training can elect to be placed with an experienced archaeological trainer for the duration of their training. These courses are suitable for beginners and those wishing to extend their experience in a specialist area. The courses can be for a single day 'taster' or an entire week, or longer. We also offer training courses of one day to one week in duration for groups of up to 15 people. The training is suitable for community archaeology groups or local archaeological societies wishing to learn or improve skills required for their own projects. We also welcome enquiries from university departments and other archaeology course providers. Costs for one to one mentoring and group courses are variable. Please contact trainingdig@yorkarchaeology.co.uk for more information, or to discuss your specific requirements.
