I just opened up GeoRSS feeds from my Google Maps application. You can see them by going here: http://www.online-archaeology.co.uk/UKArchaeologyMap/UKArchaeologyMapViewCatalogue/tabid/54/Default.aspx and clicking the geoRSS icon for each Category. Each feed contains the latest 10 items in the category.
