Hello. I am fairly new in the world of GIS (but very keen!). I am looking for a county boundary map of Wiltshire to layer over some geology maps that I have of the national grid square areas of Wiltshire, as I don't actually know the county boundaries. I tried using EDINA.ac.uk, but didn't find anything I needed. This is for my BA dissertation, (Using spatial analysis to show patterns of degree of use of Bronze age axes in Wiltshire), so any help would be great. Tom Thear, Student at Winchester University.

Hello Tom - I can give you a data dump of any UK county. What format would you like it in? If you follow these instructions you can see the county boundary of Wiltshire on my archaeology map: - go to http://www.online-archaeology.co.uk/GoogleMap/ - click on the Search link next to Browse - Select 'Roman Villas' and Wiltshire - enter 'e' (without apos) in the textbox, and click search - the Search Results overlay will appear - click on 'View all in Wiltshire' You'll see the Wiltshire boundary appear as well as all Roman Villas. I need the data to work on ESRI ArcGIS 9...so would that be a .shp file with any supporting data? If possible, I would like to have just the outline, but I can trace and replace from your data easily enough. Thank you very much! Tom Thear, Student at Winchester University.

I've sent the data to the mail address. You might want to take out you're email address from this thread as the spammers of this world will come hammering on your door. Let me know if you need anything else. Steve White
