GIS And Surface Modelling Project Manager Birmingham Archaeology School of Historical Studies You will be responsible for actively promoting and developing the work of Birmingham Archaeology and HP Vista in GIS and Visualisation and multimedia. You will initiate and manage projects, encouraging cooperation between relevant disciplines within the University and external organisations. You will also review and implement appropriate software solutions for heritage and educational activities conducted by the Unit and draft technical proposals with respect to visualisation projects. You will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the Unit's computer systems and analyse and solve computer problems as they arise, providing advice, support and guidance in IT issues to BA staff and students. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject and have demonstrable skills in archaeological computing, including software development and data analysis, visualisation, GIS analysis and web-authoring techniques. You will also possess extensive practical experience in 3D capture and specialist modelling techniques and the ability to work independently and proactively in shaping the delivery of a new service or technique. Starting salary £22,332 to £24,403 a year (potential progression on performance once in post to £27,466 a year).
