I'm still going to carry on building the mapping application with Google Maps API v2: http://www.online-archaeology.co.uk/GoogleMap/ However, this has caught my eye: http://sharpmap.iter.dk/ I'm going to have a play with this soon as it looks very promising. Steve White

There's also a big push by Microsoft with Virtual Earth: http://www.viavirtualearth.com/VVE/Dashboard/Default.ashx And not forgetting OpenLayers: http://www.openlayers.org
