This is interesting, and something WELL overdue. I'm pleased that Google MAP API is now forcing other GIS companies to react and offer free services for non-profit applications. Take a look: http://www.esri.com/software/awspublicservices/ 'ArcWeb Services—Public Services is a no-cost Web services mapping API that is available to Web developers wishing to access ArcWeb Services—Commercial Services functionality for personal, noncommercial, and nongovernmental development projects.' Online Archaeology will be taking a look at this and will try to offer an alternative version of our new resource (http://www.online-archaeology.co.uk/GoogleMap/Default.aspx) If anyone else has used the ESRI services before, how easy is it to implement?
