stas, I'm interested in the 'mapping to Google Maps web-server' aspect. Do you mean that the application has an internal viewer that uses Google Maps API, or can the application export XML to be used on a custom built Google Map application like this one: http://www.online-archaeology.co.uk/GoogleMap/Default.aspx Do you have a user guide anywhere for this application? thanks, Steve White

No Steve, Archeograf doesn't use Google's API, but just opens IE window with site's coordinates entered and puts a balloon in the right place on the map (http://local.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=18539&topic=1466). User guide ("help") is included in the Archeograf demo-version and can be downloaded from http://ardb.spb.ru/en/download.htm Stas

stas - Would I be able to export data into XML? I'd like to import GIS data into Archeograf (shp files) and export to configurable XML so that I can call the XML and display it in my own Google Maps application. many thanks

No, currently, Archaeograf can only EXPORT data to SHP files and has no XML support. You can import txt, xls or other table data or its native *.ddc file to Archeograf. You can try exporting data from Archeograf to other formats except XML (xls, MapInfo directly, txt etc.). Should you have any questions on import/export procedure just contact me, and i"ll try to help.

Archeograf can also map data to Google Map (one site at a time)
