Hi guys,
Ive been interested in achaeology for a long time. A few days ago I was out running and stumbled across a number of flints that had been dug up by moles in a field. I know for certain I have one arrowhead and two rather nice scrapers. There are however a couple of pieces that I am not so sure about. I was wondering if anyone could help and tell me what this one is (if at all anything).
It is an irregular piece of flint approximately 8cm in length with a thin front section and a much thicker 'bulbus' rear section. The front shows signs of napping and i believe it would once have been quite a sharp edge. The bottom and right surfaces are completely smooth (polished if you like) and almost perfectly straight. I can just make out ripples along the surface that i presume were made when the flint was struck. Im thinking this could be another scraper.....? Can anyone shed some light please?
