I live on vancover island canada and in 1986, i found a mountain that was protected by the herritage laws, till I brought it to the attention of the gov.a miniture mountain was placed in caves thousands of yeears ago and they light up on the solstices.
The Heritage conservation act stated ..
"heritage" means of historic, architectural, archeological, palaeontogical or
scenic significance to the province or a municipality, as the case may be;
because the mountain is depicted in the caves, it would have been technicaly protected, i did not know this. unfortunitly in sept 1996 I was beat up and told to drop it. in november 1996 this law was changed. the logging company logged the mountain in the last 10 years,I dont think this was fair for them to change the law in order to be able to log the mountain. these caves light up on the solstice's and they apear to have human faces painted in them. have a look and tell me what you think . you can find pictures and indian legends about

them @ http://forest.facts.tripod.com/chieflouie.htm
