Got a couple of photos of a gravestone that puzzles me. It lies in the grounds of the ruined mediaeval church on the old Kinneil estate, at Bo'ness in West Lothian. The estate was owned by the Hamilton family, but I'm presuming this is one of the inhabitants of the nearby (long-vanished) village. The date is 1677. I am particularly puzzled by this logo further down; it looks like an upside-down anchor. I can't find any information which might explain it, and I can't for the life of me think why it's there. Bo'ness was a port into the 20th century, but surely an anchor would have been the other round?Any clues? Regards,Gordon http://freewebs.com/thehistoryvault/
