I am trying to compile an online database of all early Bronze Age stone wrist-guards in Britain. http://www.geocities.com/archchaos1/article1/ai.htm I have 89 so far but I am convinced there are more. If you know of any that are not in the list, or are aware of any data/sources of data I am missing I would be grateful if you would let me know wh4ok@hotmail.com |

| Just noticed an article on beaker wrist guards in the latest (september) antiquity. They seem to agree with your study, and think they were not linked with archery, but had more to do with status etc. |

Yes, I just got a hold of Ann Woodward's article. She contacted me about mine six months back so we could share ideas. I was a little frustrated that their article claims to be "the first" in-depth look at British wrist-guards, when mine was published more than almost a year ago! But hey, I guess we wrote it around the same time, and theirs has just been in the printing works (much) longer.
It is good that we have independently come to the same conclusions, and it makes me think we may actually have got something right. The petrographic information, and new research I have done in Ireland mean I ma going to have to publish an update fairly soon.
I did notice however, that they only found British 58 wrist-guards and I am currently up to 94, which gives me a strange sense of pride I know I shouldn't have!
