Heard about this in another forum a few weeks ago, but no-one seems to know much about it. Apparently, this is either very close to being filmed, or already has been, but no-one knows where or concerning what. France would be the obvious answer. Anyone know? Regards, Gordon Yours in History

Well, It wasn't half bad. Thye were investigating a German position off Sword beach called Herod's Well, which the Dorset Reg. assaulted on D-Day. They did struggle a bit on anything modern, but that's to be expected, and they managed to determine that the massive hole in the ground seen on contemporary air recce pics was an unfinished communications centre. They also found an unfinished gun casemate, which had been entirely unknown previously. Bad bit? When they showed a "75mm anti-tank gun" like the one which was supposed to have been positioned on Point 54 (the main dig), which looked nothing like any German PAK (AT gun) I've ever seen! Still better than C5's Hurricane dig the previous night. Regards, Gordon

Gordon - You might want to try posting on the Time Team forum http://community.channel4.com/6/ubb.x?a=frm&s=162603557&f=8896096411. As you know Online Archaeology fourms have just kicked off so there'll be more readership on the TT one. Steve White

Just seen an advert for this on Channel Four. It's on next Monday night at 9PM, but still no details of the actual programme. My money's on a vehicle recovery of some kind, or perhaps an aircraft. Yours in History, Gordon
