I'm about to start trying to get some data from GIS onto the map. I'm investigating methods of extracting shp file data to produce lat/lon so I can map polylines. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Is anyone interested in helping me to continue to develop this map? Other things on the go:
  • I'm still loading up all Roman villas in the UK and will start to add some text to each when a couple of books arrive
  • I'm waiting for the MIDAS XML validator tool to be fixed so I can continue with enabling MIDAS import/export
It would be great if there was another developer out there who wants to help produce this. Must have excellent JavaScript skills and a keen interest in web based GIS. I'm also investigating some alternative technologies like mapserver and ArcIMS hosting so I can show different methods of producing web-based geo-referenced archaeology data. Steve White
