Gordon - Do you have a Grid Ref for these sites? If you can tell me which each country they are in that would be better. These can then start to make up a new resource I'm going to put on the portal. They'll use the same kind of thing that's used for the UK Resources page. Each entry can then have some details. cheers, Steve White

Hi Gordon Have had this reply : I assume you mean lists of 'forts' and then 'fortlets' - 'primary' and 'secondary' mean something quite different in the context of the Antonine Wall. In which case, you have Kinneil in the wrong list, and your secondary forts list should also include Summerston. Bonnyside and Tentfield are just 'expansions', i.e. watchtowers or signal platforms, not forts. In a copuple of cases the same sites have both a fort and a fortlet. You should look at the latest edition of the Antonine Wall handbook,by A.S. Robertson, 2001, for an up-to-date picture. http://p208.ezboard.com/btalkinghistory

I've added a page so people can now add their own archaeological sites to the portal. http://www.online-archaeology.co.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=74&tabid=85 Details will be sent to me and I'll then add them to the UK Sites page. Please post away as this will build up a pretty good resource. cheers, Steve White
