My Dad was housed at Presteigne Camp No 48 for a few weeks before being dispersed to a smaller camp of 50 inmates near Dorstone to work on a farm. I cannot find a record of a camp there. Do you know where it was and what it was called?
Picked up some very useful information about Presteigne - Thank you for that.

Hi Jag.
Your father might have been in a hostel rather than a camp, depending on when he was there.
I don't have any record of it just yet, but I'll keep searching for you.
Regards, Gordon

Hi JAG I belong to Dorstone History Society . We have the remains of a POW camp just outside Dorstone on the Mynydd Brydd road. Many of the prisoners worked at Westbrook farm on the road to Hay on Wye. The society was recently contacted by a gentleman who has photos of his father at the camp and at the farm . We are currently in negotiations with the landowner to see if we can gain access to the site. Many of the buiding are still in tact. We would like t produce a paper about the camp if you have any photos or other information we would be delighted to hear from you

As it has been two and a half years since you entry have you had any joy of getting access?
My family do have a full set of photos of the property as in September 2010 when I inadvertently 'fell through a fence' into the grounds. I also have a photo of an Interpretor taken outside the POW camp. My personal email is jag5553@gmail.com

I know it is a long time however, I can confirm my Dad was at Dorstone...and I do have several photos to prove it.
