I have done a search here and at the Orkneys webpage but can find nothing about volunteers at Skara. Any suggestions?

You could try getting in touch with The Orkney Achaeological Trust (oat) its based at Orkney college in Kirkwall, run by Nick Card, if not him get in touch with Julie Gibson the county archaeologist both are based at the college and there e-mail are on the web-site
