Bishopstone, nr Seaford, East Sussex 8.8.05-16.9.05 The final season of open-area excavation at Bishopstone, to be jointly run by the University of Kent and the Sussex Archaeological Society, will target further remains from a Late Anglo-Saxon settlement and associated cemetery adjacent to the renowned Anglo-Saxon parish church. 5-day training courses covering geophysics, archaeological survey, excavation techniques, finds and environmental sampling and historic landscape interpretation are offered at a cost of £180; campsite accommodation is included in the price. Volunteers (age 16 and over) are also welcomed, especially those able to stay for an extended period of three or more weeks. Volunteers are asked to contribute a one-off site of £35 (£25 students) towards running costs.
