Scotland in Later Prehistoric Europe
A major International Conference to be held in Edinburgh from Friday 19th September 2008 to Sunday 21st September
Hawthornden Lecture Theatre, Weston Link, National Galleries of Scotland, The Mound, Edinburgh.

This is the latest in a series of major conferences, organised by the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, which aims to synthesise and review our knowledge of the later prehistory of Scotland c. 1500 BC to AD 500, setting it in its broader European context. Some twenty international and local speakers will tackle wide-ranging topics under a number of themes:
• The people and the period
• The changing societies of later prehistoric northern Europe
• Landscape and settlements
• Artefacts, beliefs and society
Confirmed speakers include Ian Armit, Thomas Clancy, Michael Erdrich, Colin Haselgrove, Flemming Kaul, Vincent Megaw, Pierre-Yves Milcent, Stuart Needham, Patrick Sims-Williams, Richard Tipping and Eugène Warembol. Sir Barry Cunliffe will give the keynote address.
